[edit] Notes
You are in a public toilet. The hand dryer is important and is used to dry out the matches which will light up the store. You need to gain entry here somehow. There is also a mirror which, upon examining should give a short flashback scene.
[edit] Room Description
[edit] First entry, through window
As you climb down from the window, the first thing you notice is the strong metallic smell throughout the toilets.
You are in a small set of public toilets. Along the wall to the left are a row of sinks with mirrors directly above. At the end of the row is a hand dryer and to the right are four toilet cubicles, one closed. To the North is a small corridor which presumably leads to the entrance. On the floor a reddish-brown smear leads from the closed cubicle to the corridor, there is also the odd small reddish-grey chunk mixed in.
[edit] Objects
- Closed cubicle
- The first thing you notice as you open the cubicle is the big splatter of what you are now realising is blood on the back wall. There's a lot more of those chunks in there too. In the very centre of the splatter there is a hole in one of the wall tiles with cracks running from the hole to the edges of the tile. Something appears to be lodged in the hole.
- This is clearly the source of the smell, on top of the splatter there is big, still sticking puddle of blood on the floor. On one side of the cubicle, some unfortunate soul appears to have tried to write a message in their own blood.
- Message
- It must have been really important if someone used their last few moments of life to write a message in their own gore. It takes you a while to read it in the dim light but eventually you manage to read it: 'Psirens'. You have no idea what it means. Just as you're about to look away you notice that they dotted the 'i' with their own kidney. Creepy.
- Hand Dryer
- It is rectangular, smooth around the edges and has a chrome finish. There is an air vent situated centrally at the base of the machine. Above and to the right of which you see a round button with the word 'push' written on it in recessed lettering. There is also a patronising instructional label stuck on it which some wag has tagged "Press button, receive bacon." [1]
- Mirrors
- A row of dirty mirrors. Then again, you're not exactly the cleanest-looking person around. As you examine the unfamiliar face you appear to be behind, a memory flashes into your head... (Leads to flash back scene?)
- Label
- You can feel your IQ points draining away as you look at it.
- Sinks
- There are three chrome plated sinks situated on the near wall. One of the sinks has a bar of soap on it.
- Soap
- It's a bar of grotty soap. Looks like it hasn't been used in a long, long time.
- Toilets
- You can see three porcelain toilets through the open cubicle doors.
- Toilet Cubicles/Cubicles
- Three of them are open but the one at the far end of the room has the door closed shut. The vacancy dial also reads 'engaged.'
- Toilet Roll
- This is that really awful cheap stuff that's shiny on one side and scratchy on the other. It's virtually non-absorbent and leaves you glad that you don't need it anywhere near your personal bits.
- Vent
- It's where the hot air comes out. Or possibly the flying spaghetti monster.
- Smear
- On closer inspection the trail looks like something was dragged through paint between the cubicle and the exit although you're not sure which way. At least you hope its paint.
- Chunks
- Getting a bit closer you realise that what looks reddish-grey is actually just grey with a tinge of blood. Your stomach roils as you realise what it looks like. Trying to hold down the bile in your throat, you see that your initial thought was wrong. They are in fact chunks of brain matter. Phew! For a minute there you thought it was tripe.
[edit] Actions
- Push hand dryer button
- You push the button and the machine sparks into life. You a hear a low whirring sound and feel warm air coming from the vent.
- Dry matches under vent
- You open the box of damp matches slightly, hold them under the vent for a moment and dry the matches.
[edit] Visible Exits
North
- (First Time) You unbolt the door from the inside.
- Leads to Town Square
[edit] Invisible Exits
Climb small window
- Using one of the sinks to stand on, you attempt to clamber through the small window that leads back to the town square. Unfortunately you lose your footing on the chrome sink and fall heavily to the tiled floor, winding yourself in the process. You won't be trying that again.
