[edit] Location
What is the name of your location?
Captain's Quarters
What text is displayed to the player upon entering the location for the first time, if there is any?
Main Introduction substitutes for the first look in this location.
Write your location description here.
You're in your room, the grandly-titled "Captain's Quarters"; double the size of a regular rack, and no sharing. The mostly gun-metal grey walls aren't the most welcoming environment, but after six years it's the one place in the galaxy you consider to be "home".
At the front of the ship, next to the ceiling, is the Ship Status Monitor, flashing its damage reports: hull breach, all atmosphere vented; engines inoperable; power and gravity limited to top deck; plumbing uncertain. Below this is a mound of chaos you call your desk and chair, with an ageing computer terminal on top. Just to the right of the desk is a fusebox, powering the terminal and Ship Status Monitor.
On the port side of the ship is your recently-vacated bed, with fairly worn mattress. Above the bed is the large porthole, with a stunning view of bugger all. The fore wall is mostly taken up with your media shelves, containing everything from books to the complete box-set of the entire "Millennium Office Workers" period drama. The starboard wall is dominated by a print of an old earth painting by Bridget Riley, surrounded by various pictures of family and past crew, and towards the aft of the ship lies access to the en-suite.
To the starboard is the non-responsive door to the rest of the stricken ship. (initial)
Next to the bed is your clothes cupboard. (initial)
[alarm light daemon]
(always first) The alarm light pulses with urgency, bathing the room in fitful flashes of harsh red light.
(then random every 10 turns until power is restored)
The warning light fades and flickers. It looks like even the emergency lights are struggling for power.
The glare of the crimson warning light on your helmet momentarily makes you cover your eyes. ... ...
Where does the player go, or what is displayed when the player tries to go in the fore, aft, port, starboard, up, or down directions?
fore: There are no exits this way, just the status monitor and your desk.
aft: En-suite
port: Nothing this way but your bed.
starboard: [
(if charred fusebox broke) - The big metal door is blocking your path.
(if charred fusebox fixed) - Top Deck Fore Corridor
up: ...
down: ...
What is displayed when a player tries to go in a direction that has no exits.
The only exits are to the starboard and to the aft.
If you have any notes for the progammers about the location, put them here.

[edit] Scenery Objects
What is the name of your object?
Art Print
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
art, print, artprint, op, large, fairly
Describe your object here.
A fairly large print of one of Bridget Riley's earlier "Op Art" paintings. It hurts your eyes, but in a good way.
How can your object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
take: (first) You can't think of any circumstance where that may be useful...maybe if you were to meet an intergalactic space gorgon, you could take the geometrical abstraction and thrust it in front of the creature's eyes, causing its vision to be momentarily warped, and thus temporarily nullifying its ocular petrification.....but since there aren't any space gorgons about, lugging around a rather large painting will probably just prove to be a fruitless endeavour. Best leave it where it is.
(other) You still haven't seen any space gorgons yet, so there's not much point in taking this.
attack: You really have no appreciation for high art, do you?
What is the name of your object?
Bed
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
bed, duvet, mattress,
Describe your object here.
Where you sleep. A duvet and a mattress.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
lie, sit: Electricity is down, engines are down, there is a breach in the bottom deck and you think that this is the appropriate time to go to the land of nod?
What is the name of your object?
books
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
books, harry, potter, novels
Describe your object here.
Your collection of mostly historical novels, a few reference works, and all twenty-five Harry Potter books. Sadly, "Spaceship Repair and Maintenance for Dummies" isn't among them.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
read, take, consult: This isn't the time to be reading Harry Potter novels! In fact, there is no good time to be reading Harry Potter novels!
Chair
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
chair, seat
Describe your object here.
How can your object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
sit: (when ship not fully fixed) It's a brilliant idea. The chair is remarkably comfortable, and you are a particularly lazy so and so. There's no faulting those aspects of the plan at all. There is one fatal flaw, however: if you don't get this ship fixed up pretty sharpish, you will die, and most likely horribly. You'll be as dead as a coffin nail. In light of those facts, maybe you should postpone your planned repose until after your self-preservation has been assured.
(when the ship is fixed) As inviting as the chair is, after your heavy trials and tribulations of the day, there is one place that looks even more inviting -- your bed.
What is the name of your object?
Clothes (inside cupboard) [not takeable according to current puzzles]
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
Clothes, apparel, garments, attire

Describe your object here.

How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
open:[redirect to open small drawer?]
attack: There's really no need to do that. The small drawer isn't locked, and he desk is in enough of a mess already. Give the desk a break, you bureau bully.
What is the name of your object?
Empty bottle of Rum
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
bottle of rum, rum, bottle
Write your object description here
It wouldn't be a ship without a bottle of rum. More than a mere bottle this is the thread linking you with the sea captains of old on their creaking wooden hulks, when the going gets tough...
How can your object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
take, drink: It's empty. You downed the lot last time the going got tough -- that was when you realised you'd run all out of carrot cake...dark days indeed. In light of current events, you can't help thinking that drowning your sorrows over the absence of carrot cake may have been a slight over-reaction...nevertheless, you resolve to order more rum and even more carrot cake after this crisis is over.

Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.

take: There's no point taking these with you as you've never found anybody willing to share your love of Earth's fluorescent lit grey office cubicle days.
What is the name of your object?
Paperwork
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
paperwork, reports, requets, manifestos
Describe your object here.
Maintenance reports, status reports, docking requests, shipping manifestos, it's mostly dull stuff. You do however take pride in your soon to be filed tax returns, as these contain some of the most creative and imaginative fiction you've ever produced.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)

What is the name of your object?
Porthole
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
porthole, beautiful, vista
Describe your object here.
A beautiful vista of the nearby cosmos, brimming with infinite opportunity and excitement. Or a scattering of some god-forsaken fireballs offering nothing but an eternity of lifeless isolation. Depends on your mood.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
open: Even though the porthole is modeled like a traditional sea ship's one, for safety reasons it's designed to only open when the ship is docked on a planet with a breathable atmosphere.
attack: You're supposed to be fixing the ship. Not causing more damage.
What is the name of your object?
Shelves
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.

Describe your object here.

How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)

Ship Status Monitor
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
ship, status, monitor, display
Describe your object here.
(if fuse in fore fusebox) - A display that shows what's wrong with the ship at any given moment, powered by the nearby fore fusebox. (if fuse not in fore fusebox) - It's currently inoperable.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
take: As handy as it would be to be able to carry the monitor around, it's simply not portable.
attack: (1st time if on) You give the monitor a double handed, thrusting thump, with the outside of your clasped hands; as you watch the screen flicker and start to fade, you start to panic as you realise that there was absolutely no reason to damage such an expensive piece of equipment. Fortunately, after a few seconds, the screen starts to return to it's normal operation, and you breathe a sigh of relief, vowing never to try and smash the monitor again.
(2nd time if on) Sorry, but you can't break your vow.
What is the name of your object?
Statue
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
statue, zod, small, black,
Describe your object here.
This is a small black statue that stands approximately 4 centimetres high. It depicts a snake's body forking into two heads, one giving you an evil glare and the other one giving you... well, a viciously evil glare. You found it in your pocket one morning, after a particularly boisterous week of shore leave. The word "Zod" is carved into the statue's base.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)

(if fuse not in fore fusebox): It's currently inoperable.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)

Charred Fuse
Provide three or more words for the player to refer to your object with.
fuse, charred
Describe your object here.
This was supposed to be an unbreakable self-resetting thermistor fuse. You thought you'd pay extra as you didn't want to be trapped in your own quarters in the event of a power surge. It's now scorched and melted.
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
take (only if fuse in charred fusebox): You reach into the electrical chaos, remove the useless fuse, and toss it onto the pile of junk on the desk, where it fits in perfectly.
eat: You take the banana, peel it and ....hold on....this is a fuse! Not just a fuse, but a charred one. You're used to eating ridiculously charred pieces of toast, but attempting to eat a charred fuse is taking things too far.
What is the name of your object?

Insert into charred fusebox: As the fuse slips into place, a tiny LED lights at the top of the panel. The door is now fixed.
Take: You now have a shiny working fuse.
Eat: If your plan is to eat the fuse in the hopes that doing so will metamorphose you into a superhero called the Fusilator, with the ability to power fuseboxes with a single touch of your finger, then I'm sorry to inform you that that probably isn't going to happen.

bend, pull : (if not cut) Good idea, but the framework of the hangar is too sturdy. You need something to cut the hangar with.
(if cut) It's pretty sturdy, but pulling from where you made the incision, you manage to straighten the thick wire out. Not perfectly straight, but good enough. (now becomes long hook.)
attack: (if not cut) The hangar's framework is too sturdy to budge. Maybe if you could weaken it somehow.
(if cut) You tug on the hangar, either side of the incision. As you pull the wire, straightening it into a long hook, you feel like the world's strongest man. (now becomes wire hook)

What objects are inside your container?
Charred Fuse
How can the object be manipulated by the player, and what happens, or is displayed when the player attempts to do so? (for example, the player may try to take or push or pull or jump over your object...)
open: It's no good. The warped lid is preventing it from opening. It should open from the bottom, but the left corner has been fused to the casing. Looks like your going to have to force it.
close: (if case has been smashed) Since the lid is now on the floor, that's impossible.
(hit charred fusebox with spanner) You hit the fusebox with the spanner and the lid falls off to reveal a mess of tangled wires and sparks. [trigger charred fusebox description]

open: (when functional fuse in charred fusebox) The door slides open with a whoosh, revealing the upper deck corridor ahead to the starboard.
